8 out of 10 ostomates experience leakage in their daily life*

12% of ostomates isolate themselves because of fear from leakage**

StomTop is developing a stoma device that eliminates the adhesion of the stoma flanges to the skin – the main cause for leakages and skin irritation – by an internal sealing concept.

What is an Ostomy?

What is an Ostomy?

Ostomy is a lifesaving surgery creating an opening in the body that allows stools and urine to pass either from the intestine or from the urinary tract.

There are three types of Ostomies: Colostomy is formed from the large intestine, Ileostomy is formed from the small intestine and Urostomy is formed when part of the urinal system is removed. The most common reasons for Ostomy include bowel cancer, bladder cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis), and accidents.
