* People having a stoma
8 out of 10 ostomates experience leakage in their daily life*. As part of our contribution to the Ostomate community, StomTop is innovating user-friendly products that solve these common leakage problems and empower everyday life!
Our Story
StomTop was established in 2019 by Dr. Nurit Eyal and Dror Eyal, each having more than 30 years of experience in the biotechnology and life science industry, and Dror’s father, Prof. Moshe Eyal., the oldest ileostomy patient in Israel, experiencing ileostomy for 60 years.
As an Ostomate family, we are aware of the daily suffering of ostomates from wearing and changing a stoma bag, including the innumerable leakages night and day, the skin irritations, social isolation and ongoing distress – caused by poor ostomy bag adhesion.
We aim to support the ostomate community and break down these barriers!
The Problem
A stoma is an opening on the front of the abdomen (tummy) which is made following major intestinal surgery. It allows faeces or urine to be collected in a pouch (bag) on the outside of the body.
Current stoma devices are based on direct adhesion of the bag to the skin around the stoma. They often leak, cause severe skin irritation and a bad smell leading to embarrassment and anxiety. 12% of ostomates isolate themselves because of fear from leakage.

Our Approach
We have joined together to serve the ostomates community, by incorporating our accumulated experience and proven records as serial innovation entrepreneurs and senior managers, to develop novel solutions that meet day-to-day ostomates’ needs and hardships.
StomTop’s innovative products will assure long-term, leak-free stoma bag wearing, regardless of stoma and skin shape or conditions, while eliminating the need to adhere the stoma bag to the skin.
The company is in the development stages and expects to enter the first clinical trial during 2022.
